Earth Systems Modelling Results

Bristol Research Initiative for the Dynamic Global Environment

bbcn_all_03_Deglac Description

This sequence of simulations is a new version of the BBC runs using a revised, improved ice sheet over the original BBC runs. In the latter part of the sequence the improvements were related to better including isostatic adjustment. This isusing HadCM3 MOSESI for the last 120,000 years. The simulation uses snapshots every 4000 years for the time period from 120,000 years to 80,000 years, then every 2000 years from 80,000 years to 21,000 years, and then every 1000 years from there until pre-industrial. Forcing is with changed icesheets, changing orbits and trace gases, and land sea mask. The simulations from 80kyr to 40kyr are very similar to those in bbc_original_01 but there are very small improvements in the ocean bathymetry i.e. they are a better reflection of the Peltier data. All simulations are 500 years long, initialised from a pre-industrial simulation.
